For my future infamous Basketball paintings I have devised a scheme of silk screening Nike Air Jordans on a canvas background. The screen method will be photo emulsion from a large film negative. They will be one solid color and the image size is 17×24 inches.

My intention for these paintings atop these prints is to do a commentary series on the phenomenon of basketball ties to the industry of sneaker fashion. In highschool I was more into purchasing shoes than now, but for some people this obsession hasn’t stopped. Many poor Americans spend ridiculous amounts of money on nikes particularly air Jordans. I’m not sure of the concluding thought to this project but it is a critique on market manipulation of poor working class people being duped into buying sports apparel for status reflection.

Thanks Donnie
